District Education Office, Tuensang organised a district-Level Science Fair, 2023 at Auditorium GHSS Tuensang on August 30 with SP Tuensang, Kanchan Kumar Kanpal as chief guest.
A DIPR report informed that speaking on the occasion, the chief guest exhorted the students and explained on his understanding, the abbreviation of SCIENCE- S stands for systematic approach to anything is scientific, C for comprehensive, I for investigation, E for exploration, N for natural elements, and C & E for cause and effect. He also informed the students that science was a way of life and a way to think.
The panel of judges of the competition were Beso Chang, SDO (SC) Department of Soil & Water Conservation; Tekameren Walling, Asst. Professor, Sao Chang Govt. College and K. Videla Jing, Asst. Professor Sao Chang Govt. College.
Tonchingkhumla Class XI of Wela Foundation School, Peshie H Class CI: XII of St John Higher Secondary School were adjudged the winner of the seminar while Kongniu P Cl: X of GHS Chaba finished in second position.
The winner of the exhibition single category was M. Yemkhiung Cl: IX St John Higher Secondary School and second place was bagged by Y. Yimchunger Cl:IX Akum Imlong School. The winner of exhibition group category was bagged by Lychia Chang and Ngakusipong of Wela foundation school and second by Tangsoi and Sanglilemla of GHSS Thangjam. The seminar was held on the topic “Millet- A super food or a Diet Fad” and exhibition on the topic “Science and Technology”.
