District level Youth Festival celebrated in Longleng

The Directorate of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland, in collaboration with the NSS Wing of Yingli College, organized the District Level Youth Festival 2025 at Borgohain Hall, Yingli College, Longleng. The event, held on September 13, featured spirited competitions in Declamation, Folk Song, and Folk Dance, drawing enthusiastic participation from local institutions.
Three institutions took part in the festival: Bautung Government Higher Secondary School, Longleng; Orangkong Village Students Union; and Yingli College, Longleng. A total of 116 participants, including NSS volunteers, attended the program. In the declamation category, Chuthai L Phom of Yingli College secured the first position, followed by Denten Phom of Bautung Government Higher Secondary School. The Folk Song competition saw Yingli College’s 5th Semester students claim the top spot, while Orangkong Village Youth finished second. Bautung Government Higher Secondary School emerged victorious in the Folk Dance segment, with Yingli College taking the runner-up position.
The programme was chaired by assistant professor in the Department of Sociology, Kiriahungle Haihing. Vice-Principal of Yingli College, Dr. B. Henshet Phom, delivered the welcome address, and the vote of thanks was proposed by assistant professor, Department of Sociology, Dhapne Chungphang.
The festival provided a vibrant platform for youth to showcase their talents and fostered cultural exchange among the participating institutions.
