Dimapur: District Red Run 2026 was successfully organised in Longleng under the aegis of the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) as part of the state wide campaign to promote awareness on HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs).
According to DIPR report, prior to the run, District AIDS Control Officer (DACO) Longleng, Dr. Temsusashi, addressed participants and delivered an awareness talk on HIV and AIDS and STIs. He stressed the importance of prevention, early testing, eliminating stigma and discrimination, and encouraged youth to adopt safe and responsible health practices. He further highlighted that every individual’s effort contributes towards building an HIV free society.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from young men and women aged 17-25 years, reflecting the commitment of the youth towards spreading awareness and promoting healthy lifestyles. The run carried the theme “Every Step Counts Against HIV and STIs”, reinforcing the message that collective action can make a significant difference in the fight against HIV.
In the male category, Katlong Phom, A. Phekmei Phom and N. Tenkom Phom secured the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. In the female category, C. Lingoi, Wanyong D. Phom and Oyau Phom bagged the top three positions.
