District review meeting held at Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital Wokha

DIMAPUR: District Health Society (DHS), Wokha, conducted a district review meeting in the conference hall of Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital (DH), Wokha on April 1.
In a press release, chief medical officer (CMO) office Wokha informed that during the meeting, director (Health), department of Health and Family Welfare (H&FW), Dr. Vikato Kimini emphasised on the importance of counseling pregnant women during service delivery.
He informed the CMO and deputy CMO to convene a meeting among the staff for Health Management Information System (HMIS) and focus on quality report to improve the indicators. Meanwhile, joint director, Dr. Kika Longkumer briefed the district health officials and staff on Health Index Round 4 (Niti Aayog 2019-20) of the state.
He urged upon the district health officials to focus on birth and death registry and coordinate with Economics and Statistics department officials for better health coverage in the district.
Presentation on activities of District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU) was given by programme officer, Lichamo Odyuo, who informed that general testing was done at regular intervals in the district and the team was addressing the issue of stigma and discrimination using the church platform.
The review meeting concluded with discussion on relocation of staff to resolve the issue of manpower shortage at health units, improvement of indicators, hardware components, capture all the data for service delivery, enhance HMIS and more coordination among district health staff.
Earlier, CMO Wokha, Dr. Tumchobeni delivered the welcome address and highlighted the agendas while a presentation on district health coverage was given by district programme manager, Mhonbeni Ezung.
Reports on service delivery, immunisation coverage, non-communicable disease, reproductive child health coverage, COVID-19 vaccination status, HMIS, etc., were also presented at the meeting. The meeting was also attended by directorate officials and district health officials.
