District students’ science seminar in Meluri

DIMAPUR

Office of the Sub Divisional Education Officer (SDEO), Meluri, in collaboration with the Department of Science & Technology, successfully organized the Meluri District Students’ Science Seminar on May 30, at St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Meluri. The seminar commemorated National Science Day 2025 under the theme: “Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat.”
The event marked a significant milestone as the first-ever district-level science seminar for students in Meluri, following the official attainment of district status on February 21, 2025. It brought together eight students from four prominent schools in Meluri, who demonstrated their innovative ideas and scientific knowledge.
The event saw participation from students, with Lorraine Singson from St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School securing the first place, followed by Atsürhe Nyuthe, also from St. Xavier in second place. Atsaking Pechungri from Presbyterian High School clinched the third position.
In recognition of their outstanding achievements, the winners were awarded cash prizes along with certificates. All participants received participation certificates, along with cash incentives, acknowledging their contribution to the seminar.
SDEO, Meluri expressed pride in the students’ achievements, stressing the importance of cultivating a scientific temper and fostering creativity among young minds. The seminar concluded with a call to continue encouraging innovation and exploration, marking a step forward for a brighter and more scientifically empowered future.
