District Task Force for Immunization meeting in Mokokchung

The meeting of District Task Force for Immunization (DTFI) convened on February 20 at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Mokokchung, under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner, Ajay Moktan.
During the meeting, SMO WHO, Dr. M. A. H. Azhar, presented updates on Vaccine Preventable Surveillance and MR elimination. He highlighted the district’s performance in routine immunization and shared the status of Zero Dose, PZD, MR-1 and MR-2. Dr. Azhar recommended strengthening and maintaining high-quality, sensitive VPD surveillance as a pathway towards MR elimination.
Discussing district performance, Dr. Limanaro, DPO (UIP & RCH), noted that indicators had shown improvement. She encouraged members to continue coordinated efforts and informed that healthcare workers had been conducting regular home visits to vaccine-hesitant parents, addressing queries and fears to reduce missed-out and drop-out cases. The meeting was attended by UNICEF Consultant, allied departments, IRCS members, TATTVA Foundation representatives and staff from the Chief Medical Officer’s office.
