
District Task Force (DTF) on COVID-19 meetings and training were held in Kohima, Dimapur, Mon and Mokokchung respectively.
Kohima: Kohima District Task Force (DTF) on COVID-19 held its meeting under the chairmanship of DC Kohima, Mohammed Ali Shihab A in the presence of minister in-charge, Kohima district on COVID-19, minister for PWD (housing & mechanical), Tongpang Ozukum and advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire at DC’s conference hall Kohima on January 13.
According to DIPR report, ADC Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa highlighted the status of the district in regard to DTF activities. Meeting discussed on the agenda of official closer of quarantine centres at K Badze, ATI and IG stadium Kohima where CMO Kohima, Dr. Vezokholu informed that since second week of December 2020, no returnees were reported at quarantine centres as they had opted for paid quarantine or home isolation, however some blocks at K Badze were occupied by paramilitary forces. DTF meeting also deliberated on the roll out of COVID-19 vaccination where CMO, Dr. Vezokholu gave a powerpoint presentation. DIO Dr. Rupert and Dr. Imli also presented on frequently asked questions on COVID-19 vaccine and related matters. In this regard, DC said proper micro plan was required, which needs to be sensitised to the masses. He called for a separate meeting to have proper planning and further sought for collective efforts of all section of stakeholders and departments in this multiple challenges.
He also directed his administration officers to hold meeting in respective areas for planning in order to implement the vaccination successfully.
Dimapur: District Task Force (DTF) for Covid-19 vaccine meeting was held on January 14, chaired by DC Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan. According to DIPR report, DC informed that the DTF for COVID-19 vaccine Dimapur was the first in the state to plan and successfully carried out the dry-run of the vaccination on January 2.
The details of the beneficiaries have been already uploaded in the CO-Win portal and on January 16, the first phase of vaccination will be launched in District Hospital Dimapur along with the rest of the country. The vaccination drive will be carried out in a phase-wise manner with priority to health workers, frontline workers and those above 50 years of age. Dr. Rebecca, DPO, UIP/RCH presented an overview of disease and COVID-19 vaccine. She further informed that in the district, there will be a total of 21 vaccination sites and 54 sessions. A total of 4894 beneficiaries will be vaccinated in five days during the first phase. Rajesh K. Monsang, project officer, UNDP stated that the entire COVID-19 vaccination drive will be digitized using the CO-Win App. Rajesh Soundararajan in his closing remarks stated that all necessary logistics and infrastructure were in place for the first phase of vaccination and different plans will be made for different phases. He expressed his appreciations towards all stakeholders for their continued support and co-operation and further urged all stakeholders to take collective responsibilities during the vaccination drive and also be prepared for manpower requisitions during the subsequent phases of vaccination.
Mon: Second meeting for District Task Force Committee (DTFC) for COVID-19 vaccination was held on January 14, at DC’s conference hall, under the chairmanship of DC Mon, Thavaseelan K.
A press release by NHM Mon, media officer, Leeyan Chemshy stated that, DPO, UIP/RCH, Dr Shasinle Tep announced the launching of the Covidshield vaccine on January 16 at District Hospital Mon and further highlighted on background of preparation for the first phase which was for health workers. She stated that there would be total 10 session sites which included Mon DVS, Mon DH, Tizit PHC, Phomching PHC, Aboi CHC, Chen PHC, Changlangshu PHC, Tobu CHC, Wakching PHC, Naginimora PHC with 17 sessions and 95 vaccination team targeting 1397 beneficiaries. DC informed the DPO to furnish list of issues and requirements for the said phases so as to precede matters in order of time. The meeting continued with PPT on setting up and conducting vaccination session, monitoring and supervision, Covidshield factsheet and FAQs by DPO, UIP & RCH, Dr Shasinle Tep and DPM, Bonnie.
Mokokchung: Awareness training-cum-sensitisation programme on COVID-19 for the Home Guards, Women Home Guards & State Disaster Response Force personnel from the district was held at the chief medical officer’s (CMO) conference hall, Mokokchung from January 11 to 13.
According to DIPR report, on the first day, Dy.CMO Mokokchung, Dr. Kibangkumba, welcomed the attendees and highlighted the importance of the sensitisation training. As part of frontline workers, they were made to understand the need to be prepared for any situation arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic. Resource persons were Dr. Aonungdok, MMBS, PGDPHM, MPH (epidemiology & health systems), Dr. Tsipongchem Sangtam, MD (pathology) and Dr. Akumtemjen, district epidemiologist and Dr. Tiasunep.
A total of 51 participants attended the 3-day programme in 3 different batches from the district establishment of HGs, CD & SDRF, Mokokchung. Meanwhile, Mokokchung District Task Force (DTF) meeting on COVID-19 vaccination was held at ADC conference hall on January 14, under the chairmanship of ADC Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh.
A press release by CMO office stated that, CMO, Dr. R Chubala Aier informed the house about the launching of COVID vaccine on January 16 and hoped to work with collective efforts.
DPO (UIP&RCH), Dr. Ayangla Saku highlighted in powerpoint the overall preparation of the district for COVID-19 vaccine. She also informed that 2546 beneficiaries were registered for the 1st phase and since COVID-19 vaccine was new and was to be introduced amidst ongoing pandemic, proper supervision and monitoring of the activity was essential.
