DIMAPUR: In view of the onset of monsoon and the need to ensure cleanliness, proper drainage and preparedness against monsoon related hazards, the Deputy Commissioner of Noklak has informed residents that a district wide mass social work will be conducted on July 3, 2026 from 6 a.m. onwards.
All government departments, educational institutions, NTC, village councils, ward authorities, civil society organisations, students’ bodies and the general public have been requested to actively participate within their respective jurisdictions.
Activities will include clearing of drainage and culverts, removal of silt, debris and vegetation, and spraying of disinfectants. Geo tagged photographs of the work may be shared to 8974726185. Departments have been assigned specific responsibilities: EE PWD (R&B)/Ward Chairman – Clearance of roadside drainage; SDO/JE (Power) – Checking of electric poles; CMO Medical – Spraying of disinfectants/mosquito repellents in required areas; SDEO Education/School heads – Cleaning of school surroundings; Forest Ranger/Ward – Checking trees susceptible to storm damage and APRO – Public announcements.
