Diversion of AYUSH hospitals

CM ASKS H&FW DEPTT TO CLARIFY TO CMO ON THE MATTER

Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio has directed the Health & Family Welfare department to ascertain as to how two Ayurveda Yoga Unani Siddha Homeopathy (AYUSH) Hospitals selected by the government at Tuli and Medziphema were diverted to Tizit and Zunheboto.

Disclosing this in a letter addressed to the chief minister on March 11, senior legislators of NDPP and also Advisors- Zhaleo Rio (UD & MA) and Tongpang Ozukum (Water Resources)- reminded that Ayush hospitals at Tuli and Medziphema were selected by the state government and foundation stones virtually laid by union minister Sarabananda Sonowal while physically laying the foundation stone for the Ayush hospital at Chedema on March 4, 2023.

However, the two advisors expressed utter surprise to later learn that “through manipulation by some senior bureaucrats in the department,” the two projects were diverted to Tizit and Zunheboto “without any basis, which is a total departure form the original decision of the government.”

They said the diversions has invited resentment from people of their respective assembly constituencies and district and “which unless restored, may invited unpleasant situation.”
In the light of the above mentioned facts, the two advisors urged upon the chief minister to look into the matter and set things in perspective in the interest of justice.

In response the chief minister has directed the H&FW department to urgently report to the CMO on how the diversions were made after the foundation stones had been laid by the union minister.
