The Delhi Lotha Baptist Church (DLBC), in collaboration with the Lotha Students’ Union Delhi (LSUD), organized its annual sports meet at the Rugby Stadium, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi under the theme “Togetherness” inspired by Psalm 133:1.
The event brought together participants from the Lotha Naga community, other Naga tribes, Northeast India and mainland India, creating a vibrant celebration of unity through sports.
Six teams – DLBC, LSUD, North Delhi Team, Kishangarh Team, X1 Brothers Team and Noah Team competed in a wide range of events including football, volleyball, basketball, athletics, obstacle courses and children’s games.
In the football (Men & Women), DLBC emerged champions; while in volleyball (Men), North Delhi Team secured victory, and in volleyball (Women), Noah Team claimed the title. In Basketball (Men), North Delhi Team triumphed.
Athletics and obstacle events showcased both individual speed and collective teamwork, while children’s games added joy to the day.
The programme began with a welcome address by Mhayani N. Jami, followed by an opening prayer from secretary of DLBC Zubenthung Ngullie. A sermon by pastor Mhabemo Kithan emphasized the importance of unity in the challenges of city life, before officially declaring the meet open.
The closing ceremony was chaired by president of LSUD, C. Rendemo Tsangla,. Championship prizes were awarded by senior manager at TATA Power & Government of Delhi, Echungbemo Humtsoe and Deputy Commandant Chumben Ngullie. The event concluded with a benediction from pastor Kithan.
