DLSAs conducts awareness prog

Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) in collaboration with Kalos Society Pfutsero conducted legal literacy awareness programme on July 30, at Baptist School, Pfutsero.
At the programme director, KupelhiLosou, Kalos briefed about the importance of rights. He encouraged every civilized people to be honest to bring a change for better society. ACAUT Pfutsero, convenor WezoteKreo, highlighted the significance of ACAUT. He said, ACUAT is not a group but a movement by few light-minded people to fight against corruptions and anti-social elements. 
Speaking on the occasion, PDLSA/ district & sessions judge, Chairman, LongshiEzung stressed on the importance of civil action and motor vehicle Acts. He said “Laws are important for every civilize society”. He also stressed on the importance of Life Insurance. 
PDLSA panel lawyer Pfukhrulhi Khupfuh, spoke on the significance of Right to Information Act (RTI). He enlightened the people about the procedures for filing RTI. He maintained that it is very unfortunate we the Nagas failed to fight for our rights. He said that most of the RTI cases were filed by non Nagas. 
Meanwhile, PDLSA/Civil Judge (Jr) secretary Ajongba Imchen, spoke on the topic “OMBUDSMAN & Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. He said that the legal action against corruption in Nagaland is very weak. Further, he stressed that under Indian Panel Code (IPC) with regard to rape, the modesty of women is maintained.  Being in democratic country, every individual has right to fight for their rights he added. 
Altogether 80 people have attended the program.
