DLSAs organise programmes in Mkg, Tsg

With an aim to spread awareness through reading, Sarvahitey’s library project was introduced in Mokokchung and Tuensang districts by Sarvahitey in collaboration with Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) from November 26 – 29. 
According to a release by NSLSA, the Sarvahitey team was led by director of Kids’ Heaven School and co-founder of Sarvahitey Foundation, Prem Prakash, while master trainer NSLSA, Limasenala Longkumer and Esther Aye represented NSLSA. 
In Mokokchung, the project was introduced at Fazl Ali College, Ungma village Legal Services Clinic, Yaongyimsen village and Akhoya village, while in Tuensang, it was introduced in Hakchang Sochum School, Chingmei Sochüm School etc. 
First stage of the library would consist of books and cater to everyone who wishes to avail the services. 
In second stage, computers would be put up and interested people would be trained on MS Word, Excel, Photoshop, Power point etc. while the third stage would see introduction of projector through which various educational videos could be shown. It could also be used to promote awareness about various government schemes available to people. The team also identified Mokokchung district to set up the first Sarvahitey’s library project. 
MDLSA: Mokokchung District Legal Services Authority (MDLSA) organized legal awareness seminar at Yaongyimsen village and Akhoya village on November 29 and Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung on November 28. 
Speaking during legal awareness programme, JMFC and secretary MDLSA, Phuleto Yeptho, announced that a Legal Literacy Club would be set up at Fazl Ali College Mokokchung. He said that free legal aid was guaranteed to the marginalized section of the society with an income of below one lakh.
Phuleto Yeptho said that a member of a scheduled caste or scheduled tribe, a victim of trafficking in human beings, a woman or a child, a mentally ill or otherwise disabled person, victim of a mass disaster, ethnic violence, caste atrocity, flood, drought, earthquake or industrial disaster or an under-trial in custody including a juvenile has been entitled to avail free legal services.
Resource person master trainer NSLSA, Limasenala Longkumer spoke on life insurance and saving schemes relating to girl child and senior citizens. She also spoke on child rights such as human trafficking, child labor and POCSO Act 2012. 
Master trainer NSLSA, Esther Aye also spoke on domestic violence act and how to claim MGNREGA. She also responded to queries relating to Self Help Groups and unskilled labor. While Prem Prakash spoke on introduction to library scheme. 
The resource persons also spoke on introduction to legal services authority, NALSA (Legal Services to Victim of disaster) Scheme 2016, NALSA (Legal Services to Senior Citizens) Scheme 2016, voting rights as a citizen of India and NALSA (Effective Implementation of Poverty Alleviation) Scheme 2015. 
The programmes were chaired by panel lawyer MDLSA, Moatemjen. Meanwhile, Zunheboto District Legal Services Authority (ZDLSA) also organized legal awareness programme at Sub Beam School on November 24 with retainer lawyer ZDLSA, Tovi Yeptho as the resource person.
