DLST flays assault by non-local traders

DIMAPUR, JUN 28 (NPN)

Dimapur Langpangkong Senso Telongjem (DLST) expressed anguish and condemned the alleged assault on a customer, Meyi Jamir, by one Rohit, vegetables trader at Murgipati, Dimapur on June 26.
In a statement, DLST president I.Sanen Longkumer and general secretary Temsuyanger as-serted that whatever reason might be, assaulting a local customer by a non-local vegetable ven-dor in Nagaland was a direct insult and threat to citizens of Nagaland.
DLST said it was “very disturbing development” to the security and existence of indig-enous people of the state.
The Telongjem said that though the case had been amicably settled between the parties con-cerned, the very threat that unleashed upon innocent local person by outsider, who earns his livelihood in Nagaland, makes Nagas humiliated and insecure in their own land.
“It will take time to settle our mind from such physical and mental disturbances till such time that we make ourselves our society free from such undesirable force who control our economy and treat us as third class citizen in our own land,” DLST said.
