DMC cautions

Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), administrator has stated that in spite of the repeated notices/directives, it has observed that many business establishments/ shops/ vendors were still in practice of selling/using non bio-degradable poly bags. It stated that such practice was in direct violation of the notification issued by the Ministry of Environment and Forest, government of India and Nagaland Pollution Control Board on the Plastics Waste (Management and handlings) Rules 2011.
DMC also stated that it has been reported that some unauthorised dealers have been selling bio-degradable poly bags without any permit from the concerned authority. It has cautioned that business establishments/shops/vendors/individuals found violating the directive would be penalised and their trade licence cancelled.
