DMC clears drainage in New Market

Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has cleaned a major drain at New Market which got flooded above footpath level during the April 2 rain accompanied by hailstones on Monday.
Many shopkeepers had to undergo inconveniences owing to the overflowing drain. They were, however, relieved with the cleaning of the drainage.
The business community in the area particularly, the New Market Business Owners’ Association (NMBOA) has lauded the DMC under its administrator, H Atokhe Aye, for taking up sanitation works in the area. NMBOA office in-charge, Kiyegho, who visited the DMC cleaning works, has extended support and cooperation to the DMC in its developmental works. 
He has thanked various business enterprises including second-hand cloth dealers, hotels and its managers, small shops, one Zakir and others for contributing refrigerator, ceiling fans, steel almirah, TV set, carpets and chairs to the NMBOA office.
He said NMBOA was functioning in the interest of the business community and reiterated its commitment to work for their welfare.
