The State Foundation Day of Uttar Pradesh was celebrated at Raj Bhavan, Kohima on January 24, 2025. Speaking on the occasion, the Nagaland governor, La Ganesan, recalled the deep-rooted bonds and enduring friendship between the people of Nagaland and the vibrant community from Uttar Pradesh.
He said the objective of the celebration was to strengthen the existing bonds and enrich the cultural fabric of the nation by promoting understanding and respect for the diverse traditions that make up the country.
Ganesan acknowledged the contributions of the people of UP to Nagaland and said that they have played a pivotal role in building bridges between the states, enriching the traditions, and fostering a sense of unity, and hoped that the day would be a reminder of the strong ties that bind an inspiration for everyone to continue striving for prosperity and harmony.
A speech on Uttar Pradesh was delivered by, Manoj Maddheshi and short speech by Jagdamba Mall. Various cultural presentations were also showcased by the UP community, Bhakti Nritya by Annpurna Gupta, Prem Nritya by Riya Gupta, Group dance by, Alisha and friends, Bhajan by K. P. Gupta and kathak Nritya on Mahabharat by Harshita Maddheshia.
Commissioner and Secretary to Governor, Rajesh Soundararajan delivered the welcome address and the vote of thanks by Section Officer Jochule.
