DIMAPUR: In recognition of their dedicated efforts towards drainage water rejuvenation, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) in collaboration with the Municipal Affairs Department, Nagaland, felicitated sanitation workers during an interaction and facilitation programme held under the #CatchTheRain Campaign at the DMC Conference Hall on Monday.
The programme focused on water conservation and rejuvenation of water bodies within the municipality. According to a press release, the sanitation workers were specially selected for their exceptional contribution to the extensive drain cleaning drive across the municipal area, which received widespread public appreciation.
Their efforts have significantly improved storm water flow, reduced waterlogging, enhanced urban sanitation, and contributed to the revival of natural water channels in the city.
As a token of gratitude, each worker was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation along with a cash incentive. Certificates were handed over by DMC CEO, Dr. Kuzonyi Wideo, who commended the workers for their unwavering dedication and highlighted their indispensable role in protecting public health, conserving water resources, and building a cleaner, greener and more resilient Dimapur.
The programme also featured interaction sessions, success stories shared by sanitation workers, and discussions on the importance of drainage rejuvenation, water conservation and sustained maintenance of municipal drainage systems.
