DMC fixes rates of cut meat

In pursuance to the joint meeting resolution of three municipalities/town councils of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), Chumoukedima Town Council (CTC) and East Dimapur Town Council, DMC has revised and refixed the rates of various cut meat, which was to be enforced with immediate effect.
In a press release, DMC administrator, W Manpai Phom informed the following rates – broiler (live) Rs 160 per kg; broiler (dressed) Rs 250 per kg; layer and felister (live) Rs. 200 per kg and kuroiler (live) Rs 300 per kg.
DMC has informed that the prescribed rate was maximum amount fixed by the council, which was to be followed strictly by the chicken seller.
The council said the stall has to be hygienic as per the norms and the butchers have been directed to provide quality and hygienic meat to the customers.
Failing to comply with the instruction, DMC said it was bound to take appropriate action as per the provisions of law.
