DMC holds ‘Safaimitra Suraksha Shivir’

As part of Swachhata Pakhwada, a fortnight awareness drive under Swacch Bharat mission, “Safaimitra Suraksha Shivir” for Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) sanitation workers was organised at DMC office premises on Friday.
Delivering keynote address, DMC administrator W Manpai Phom informed about the activities to the sanitation workers and its benefits.


He also appreciated the contribution of the sanitation workers and encouraged them to continue to deliver their best for the welfare of the society. Activities included providing awareness to sanitation workers about the government schemes available to them, organising preventive health checkups for sanitation workers, camps for sanitation workers to apply for the schemes they were entitled, extending health insurance and other social benefits, providing PMSBY & PMJJBY schemes to all sanitation workers by the DMC and distribution of medicines and medical assistance to the sanitation workers.


Various insurance schemes available for the welfare of the sanitation worker, which DMC has coordinated with State Bank of India (SBI) were also highlighted to the sanitation workers. DMC comprised of more than 150 sanitation workers including drivers and sweepers.


Short speech was also delivered by Sisterhood network director Azungla Imsong and brand ambassador Mhonjan Lotha. Team from SBI, NGO sisterhood network, Team Dimapur, Chief Medical officer (CMO) Ayushman team and medical team were part of the drive.
