DMC notifies butchers, meat traders

Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has notified all butchers/meat traders within its jurisdiction to sell dressed/processed meat in proper meat shops and not in open areas exposed to dust and flies.

In a press release, DMC administrator, Albert Ezung said that directive is taken in view to provide safe and hygienic meat to consumer.  Further, all butchers/meat traders have been directed to obtain trade license by following strict guidelines of veterinary public health cell, DMC. DMC has directed all to comply with the directives within 10 days failing which defaulters would be penalised as per the provision of the Act.
