Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has notified all the butchers, meat traders, livestock dealer of Dimapur to provide safe and hygienic meat to the consumers. It has informed that all animals such as cattle, buffalo, pig and goat are to be slaughtered at DMC Modern Abattoir located at Burma Camp, Khatkati Road, Dimapur.
DMC administrator H. Atokhe Aye informed that in pursuance of the guideline given by the Municipal Affairs Cell, government of Nagaland, all the butchers, meat traders have been asked to utilize the facilities of DMC Modern Abattoir that has already established for the said purpose with immediate effect. All butchers, livestock dealer and meat traders were also asked to register their firm and name with DMC Veterinary Cell and obtain trade license on or before December 31.
It also informed that this order shall come into force with immediate effect and failure to comply with the order necessary action shall be initiated against the defaulter as per the provision of Nagaland Municipal act 2001.
