Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) first anniversary organised by Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) was observed Saturday at DMC office premises.
Speaking on the occasion, DMC Administrator, H. Atokhe Aye highlighted the various activities being to be undertaken by DMC under the scheme. The municipal body has tied up with PHED to provide water supply to every household in Dimapur, informed Aye.
He further enlightened the gathering that DMC along with PHED would work on creating networked underground sewerage systems, including augmentation of existing sewerage systems.
On urban transport, building of two new foot flyover is in the offing, said Aye. In these regard, the council has identified two locations at Deluxe Point and Dhobinalla for the construction of foot flyover bridges.
DMC would also develop child-friendly green space and parks under the scheme informed Aye and added that the municipal council has already adopted a park at PWD colony. While maintaining that DMC was committed to help the citizens of Dimapur in every possible way, the administrator has also sought support and cooperation of the public while carrying out developmental work.
He further appealed to the citizens to inculcate civic sense especially with regard to throwing of garbage.
Meanwhile, representatives of various colonies and organisations who attended the anniversary have assured all support to DMC in carrying out developmental work in the city.
