DMC orders halt to unauthorized activities

DIMAPUR, JUL 1 (NPN): Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has directed all individuals carrying out unauthorized construction, roadside dumping and other unapproved activities within its jurisdiction to stop such works immediately, warning that violators would face penalties.
In a notice, DMC chief executive officer Dr. Kuzonyi Wideo said the council had observed several illegal activities within the municipal area, including dumping of materials along roadsides, construction of buildings without obtaining the required no-objection certificate (NOC), borewell drilling without permission and unauthorized construction or reconstruction of buildings.
DMC directed all concerned individuals to cease such activities with immediate effect unless prior permission had been obtained from the responsible authority. It warned that anyone found violating the order would be liable to pay a fine of Rs.3,000 and would also face further action under the applicable rules and regulations of the council.
DMC notified that the order had been issued for strict compliance.
