Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) directed removal of unauthorized signage displaying “No Parking” or “Parking for Customers only” by private individuals, business establishments and other entities on public roads and spaces, put up without the approval of the competent authority, along NL Road, Ao Tajen Road, GS Road, Dhobinala to DC office junction (NH), MP Road and City Tower to Tragopan Area.
In a notice, DMC chief executive officer (CEO), Thungchanbemo Tungoe also took note of street vendors and shopkeepers encroaching upon footpaths by displaying their products, causing obstruction to pedestrian movement and traffic flow.
DMC has, therefore, directed all individuals, businesses, establishment, street vendors and shopkeepers to remove and clear those items immediately. DMC cautioned that failure to comply with the order would result in imposition of fines and penalties as per the provisions of the law.
