DMC parking fee collectors to carry out cleanliness drive

DIMAPUR

Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), which is undertaking joint initiatives with stakeholders to promote public hygiene and civic responsibility across the city, has informed that the parking fee collectors engaged under DMC would conduct cleanliness drives every Saturday within their respective designated parking zones.
In a press release, DMC chief executive officer (CEO) Thungchanbemo Tungoe stated that the proposed voluntary effort underscored their commitment towards maintaining cleaner public spaces in addition to their regular duties.
CEO informed that DMC’s councillor in-charge of public transport and parking lots, would supervise the systematic maintenance and repainting of parking lines across the streets where fees are collected.
CEO said that this measure was s aimed at ensuring organised parking facilities and enhancing overall urban management.
Further, CEO informed that Dimapur District Auto Drivers’ Union (DDADU) has also resolved to carry out weekly cleanliness drives at the Super Market area every Saturday in collaboration with DMC. Appreciating the cooperation of all stakeholders, the DMC has urged citizens to extend their support in maintaining cleanliness and civic discipline for a healthier and more sustainable urban environment.
