DMC prohibits cruelty on animals

Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has informed everyone that torturing, overloading, causing unnecessary pain or suffering to any animal, carrying either in or upon any vehicle in such manner subjected to unnecessary pain or suffering has been prohibited.  In this regard, DMC administration Albert Ezung informed that the DMC in coordination with State Animal Welfare Advisory Board Nagaland (SAWAB-N) and Society for Prevention of Cruelty of Animals (SPCA) will be keeping strict vigil on any one dealing in any inhumane manner to animals as endorsed by SAWAB-N, will be prosecuted as per the provision of the act. 
DMC informed that the prevention of cruelty to Animals Act 1960 under section 11 (1) of the Act  protect all animals- domestic or wild, which requires them to be treated in a humane way during transportation, rearing or even during slaughter for meat purpose.
