DMC reminds on pork, beef rates

Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has authorised respective colony authorities under its jurisdiction to check and impose fine on butchers if found selling above the rate fixed by DMC– pork Rs.220 per kg, pork viscera Rs.180 per kg, beef Rs.1190 per kg and viscera Rs.150 per kg.

DMC administrator Moa Sangtam also reminded about fines to be imposed on butchers who were not processing their livestock at the DMC modern abattoir. DMC has also directed butchers to put up rate charts in their respective shops. It has also authorised colony authorities to close down butcher shop running without DMC trade license. It stated that colony authorities could impose a fine of Rs.1000 on any defaulters of the mentioned directives.
