DMC-repaired road inaugurated

Commissioner of Police, Dimapur Liremo Lotha as the chief guest on Wednesday inaugurated the sixth Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) repaired-road at River Belt Colony (2617 square meter).
DMC has been undertaking various projects like drainage clearance, construction of culverts and dustbins in a phase-wise manner within its jurisdiction.
While lauding DMC, Liremo said the River Belt colony road has been drastically transformed.
Stating that many complain that all government employees are corrupt, Liremo however said there are officials who are also honest and dedicated. 
Maintaining that people should continue cooperating DMC, he also said officers like DMC administrator, Atokhe Aye should be lauded and supported.
Liremo also highlighted on the newly setup comissionerate system in Dimapur and sought public support to curb law and order problems in the district.
He said without the support of Dimapur citizens, any effort made by the district administration or the comissionerate would be futile.
He also appealed to the public to not only criticise the police but also come out with corrective measures/constructive criticism.
Earlier, DMC administrator Atokhe Aye expressed gratitude to the concern department and the State government for allowing DMC to collect toll tax through which the developmental activities have been taken up.
After the State government allowed DMC to collect the toll tax, Atokhe said the council was able to repair six roads besides ongoing clearance of 20-30 years accumulated drainage, construction of culverts and constructing dustbins within DMC jurisdiction. He further sought public and government’s support to further carry out the vision of the DMC. He also reiterated his appeal to the public to inculcate civic sense.
DMC has also requested all colony leaders to submit the compulsory Resident Sanitation Tax (RST), Rs. 10 per household per month, so that the council could utilise the money to fully implement solid waste management.
The inaugural programme was attended by leaders and residents of River Belt colony, students of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, DMC officials and staff and well wishers.
