DMC starts second phase of development

As part of its second phase of developmental activities in Dimapur town, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) Tuesday started unclogging the main drainage in Nyamo Lotha road.
According to DMC administrator H Atokhe Aye, cleaning of culverts and drainages in main town area would be covered before the onset of monsoon during the second phase.  He informed that DMC has engaged private labourers in cleaning the wastes and garbage from the drainage.
Earlier, as part of the first phase of developmental activities
DMC repaired and widened the road Murgi Patti connecting Nyamo Lotha Road, GS Road and MP Road.
The road repaired work was done with the money collected as toll tax for the month of January by DMC.
Atokhe had earlier said that the toll tax collection was meant for developmental works and lauded the government of Nagaland led by the chief minister TR Zeliang for allowing DMC to collect toll tax for the months January – March.
DDGBAD lauds
Dimapur District G.Bs Association Dimapur has lauded Dimapur municipal Council for repairing the “most neglected” commercial road, Murgi patti.
In a press release DDGBAD president Shikuto Zalipu and I&P secretary Akhu Gangmei said that one of the “essential requirement” for development is better road condition and connectivity at such DMC repairing the road was appreciable.
The association has lauded the “good works” done by DMC headed by its administrator H. Atokhe Aye and has also lauded the State government for incorporating with DMC thus enabling the council to show the “result with vivid declaration of income and expenditures”.
Meanwhile, the association has also thanked and appreciate the district administration for slashing the auto fair and urge the authority to maintain and control the essential commodities as well. DDGBA has also appealed to the public and civil organizations to encourage and co operate with the government in developmental activities.
