As part of its second phase of developmental works on sanitation in and around Dimapur, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) Monday undertook a major cleaning of drainage at Eros Lane area.
It may be noted that DMC administrator, H Atokhe Aye, in its second phase of developmental activities, has decided to clean the drainages in and around Dimapur before the onset of monsoon following which DMC has been on war footing to complete the task.
On Monday, the DMC workers while cleaning the drainage, found a pipeline belonging to BSNL in the middle of the drain which was obstructing the flow of the sewage. Earlier, DMC workers had also came across similar obstruction at MP road. To this, DMC has appealed to the responsible department to look into the matter at the earliest.
Meanwhile, Atokhe Aye has thanked the public for the support and cooperation towards the DMC in its efforts to beautify Dimapur.
Eros Lane colony, GB Vikuto who also visited the cleaning site, has appreciated DMC administrator H. Atokhe Aye for taking up sanitation activities. Eros Line hotelier union has also extended support to by providing refreshment to the workers.
