DMC to hold mass social work on June 5

DIMAPUR

In observance of World Environment Day 2025 under the global theme “End Plastic Pollution,” Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) will conduct a mass social work on June 5, 2025 from 6 am to 9 am across all streets under its jurisdiction, in collaboration with various civil society organizations.
According to DMC, Chief Executive Officer, Thungchanbemo Tungoe, the social work will be flagged off by advisor, Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Excise, Moatoshi Longkumer.
In this regard, DMC has directed all business establishments, shops, and stalls within its area to remain closed during the scheduled time to facilitate active participation in the cleanliness drive. Shopkeepers were also directed to clean their shop fronts and surrounding areas, with emphasis on removing plastic and non-biodegradable waste from roadsides and drains, and deposit the collected plastic waste at the designated collection point at City Tower.
