DMC to stop door-to-door services if RST not paid

Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has said that no door-to-door collection of wastes service will be provided in colonies that are not paying Residential Sanitary Tax (RST).

In a review meeting held between DMC officials and representatives of colony councils and GBs at Town Hall on Thursday on door-to-door collection of wastes, the municipality also asked those colonies that had submitted RST only for 2017 to submit the tax for 2018 by July-end, and warned of discontinuing services in the event of failure to submit the same. For appointment of GBs or any other official records, the meeting further resolved that the total number of households in a colony will be as per the list of RST submitted by the respective colonies to DMC.
During the meeting, DMC administrator Moa Sangtam urged colony officials and GBs to report to him directly in case of any negligence on the part of municipality sanitation staff while carrying out door-to-door collection of wastes. This was stated in a minutes of the meeting shared with the media by the DMC administrator.
