Dimapur Merangkong Senso Telongjem celebrated its golden jubilee at the auditorium hall of Sakus Mission College here on Saturday.
Delivering message on the occasion, Rev Toshimeren spoke on the significance of the jubilee, emphasizing its secular and biblical dimensions.
Rev Toshimeren also spoke on the secular nature of jubilee celebrations, highlighting the milestone of 50 years as a moment of self-reliance and decision-making. Drawing from biblical references, he cited the story of the Israelites’ liberation from Egyptian rule in the name of jubilee celebration, underscoring the theme of breaking free from slavery.
According to Rev Toshimeren, jubilee was not just a secular celebration but also a call to give back to society.
He therefore urged the community to recognize their dependence on God, emphasizing that success would be unattainable without divine assistance.
He also encouraged the gathering to seek God’s guidance in all endeavors and to serve with dedication, understanding, and faith.
Meanwhile, short speeches were also delivered by Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur, president, Nungsang Pongen; Dimapur Langpangkong Senso Telongjem president, C. Yapang Pongen and Merangkong Senso Telongjem Kohima, Imnayanger.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Chubamongla and Bendangienba, invocation by Arenla Imsong, welcome address by president, DMST, Sosanglepden, while Daisy Yaden, oldest member of DMST, released the jubilee souvenir.
Highlights of the programme included opening ceremony by Merangkongtsür Telongjem Dimapur, special number by Yashijungla Yaden and cultural dance by Cultural Committee, DMST, and vote of thanks by convenor, planning committee, Lanusüsü.
