Dmu business community appeal NPGs

Business community of Dimapur at a joint meeting held on Friday at DCCI office deliberated on the issue of “constant harassment” meted out to business community in Dimapur and other districts by various Naga political groups (NPGs) in the form of shop registration fee, trade license fee, yearly taxation, information slips containing monetary demand etc and subsequent threats in the event of non-payment.
The house noted that such activities have seriously affected businessmen and made their survival almost impossible. The house resolved to appeal to NPGs to understand the ground realities and create congenial atmosphere for business community to earn their source of livelihood.
The meeting also resolved to strongly appeal to various district administrations, police and the state government to take effective action against all illegal activities perpetrated upon business community especially Dimapur and rescue businessmen from further hardships, stated a joint press release issued by DCCI, BAN, EDBA and business community.
