The Dimapur and Niuland District U-14 Catch Them Young Sepaktakraw Tournament 2025 concluded after two days of spirited competition at Grace Academy, Dimapur. Organized under the aegis of the All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA), Dimapur Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources and Sports (DYRS), the tournament aimed to nurture young talent while promoting values of teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.
Altogether, 13 schools (11 from Dimapur and 2 from Niuland) participated in the event, which commenced on September 19. In the opening ceremony, general secretary of ANPSA Dimapur, Ketoulhou Sekhose, delivered the Welcome address; Vice president of ANPSA Dimapur, Rev. Fr. Renthungo N Odyuo, officiated the kick off as special guest. The programme was chaired by joint secretary ANPSA Dimapur, Dr. Sentisangla, with Principal of Assisi Higher Secondary School, Sr. Matilda Cutinha, leading the prayer. Sports secretary ANPSA Dimapur, Asito Peseyie administered the oath to the young athletes.
In his address, Ketoulhou Sekhose emphasized the importance of sports in character development and the role of such platforms in opening avenues for excellence.
The closing ceremony on September 20 was chaired by treasurer ANPSA Dimapur, B.P. Sharma. President of ANPSA Central, Madam Nini Sekhose, commended the tournament for spotlighting emerging talent. Proprietor of Lorna’s Higher Secondary School, Trevor Jamir, led the opening prayer, while president of ANPSA Dimapur, Bithungo Kikon, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to DYRS and announcing the 25th anniversary of ANPSA Dimapur’s Annual Sports in 2026, which will feature a series of tournaments across disciplines. The final match was ceremonially kicked off by Headmaster of Genesia School, Kuhuboto Fr. Bryan Antony D’Souza.

Holy Cross Higher Secondary School was honored with the Best Discipline Award.
The champions, along with runners-up from Dimapur and the winning team from Niuland, will advance to the State Level Tournament scheduled for October 13 and 14 at IG Stadium, Kohima.
