Dmu Police arrest 5 in abduction case

DIMAPUR

In two separate operations, Dimapur Police successfully apprehended five individuals involved in an abduction case and arrested one person in possession of illegal arms and ammunition, as part of heightened security measures ahead of Independence Day.
According to Dy. Commissioner of Police (Crime)/ PRO, Dimapur, on August 11, five abductors belonging to various cadres were arrested from the Purana Bazaar area. The arrests followed the abduction of three non-local individuals on the night of August 10, with a ransom demand of Rs. 2 lakhs. Acting swiftly on received information, Dimapur Police rescued the victims and apprehended the suspects. A case has been registered and is currently under investigation.
In a separate incident, security forces intensified surveillance in and around Dimapur based on intelligence inputs regarding the presence of armed cadres. During the operation, one individual identified as “SS Deputy Kilonser” of NSCN-R (Wangtin), Toka Sumi, was arrested from the Nagarjan-Phaipijang area. He was found in possession of one illegal pistol and ten live rounds of ammunition. A case has been registered in connection with the seizure and is under investigation.
