Dmu police nab one for extortion

Dimapur police along with AET zone-II party while performing surveillance duty in and around Dimapur’s Dhobinala area, nabbed one person near the traffic point for demanding money from business establishments.
According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur, during the arrest, the accused tried to flee by pulling out a pistol and threatening to fire upon the officer on duty, but was overpowered. The accused has been identified as Pukhato Kiba (Nikato Kiba) (19) son of Atol Kiba, and a permanent resident of Zhekishe village under Niuland police station /post office.
The PRO said that one .22 pistol with magazine, one .22 live round and Rs. 3915 cash was recovered from his possession.
A case in this connection has been registered and further investigation on.
