Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) appealed to all the school and college authorities within its jurisdiction to compulsorily implement wearing of traditional attire once or twice a month with effect from the month of April 2022.
DNSU through its media cell stated that the move besides preserving and promoting traditional and cultural values would also protect one’s identity “in the constantly changing contemporary society.” The union has appreciated certain schools and colleges that were already practising the same. DNSU has also appealed the student community to avail school bus services in town areas to lessen the burden of traffic congestion. In this regard, the union has urged the school and college authorities to provide bus services.
Meanwhile, in compliance with NSF resolution, DNSU has directed its constituent units neither to associate with the Indian armed and paramilitary forces nor accept any form of humanitarian aid from them. NSF at its 2nd Federal Assembly unanimously resolved to extend the “Non-Cooperation movement against the Indian Armed forces until justice is served to the victims of the Oting incidents and all other victims of the Army excesses committed in our Naga Homeland.”
DNSU has, therefore, appealed to all the citizens of Dimapur to hoist a black flag as a mark of protest against the imposition of the AFSPA in Naga homeland.
