DNSU conduct raid in market area

Following complaints from the public, the Dimapur Naga Students Union (DNSU) on Wednesday carried out raid in New Market, Super Market, Rail Bazaar and Nagarjan area and apprehended 17 chicken vendors for selling beyond the rate fixed by the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC). 

The raid was carried out after collecting proper information from the DMC administrator on the market rate. According to DNSU, the raid was led by DNSU general secretary, B. Mhajan Tsopoe and vice president, Sentimeren Pongen and assisted by two police personnel. 
The 17 defaulters were later released after signing a bond, DNSU general secretary, Mhajan said. The seized chicken meat was later donated to some orphanage and old age homes in Dimapur. 
Meanwhile, DNSU has thanked the Commissioner of Police and OC East Police station, and DMC administrator for their cooperation.   DNSU has also appealed to the public to report to the DMC or DNSU in the event of any such malpractices was reported.
