DNSU lauds edn institutions for extending break

Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has commended the educational institutions that have extended summer vacations in response to the severe heatwave and high humidity. In a press release, DNSU secretary education Kevin Gonmei has, however, expressed concern over some educational institutions in and around Dimapur that have not taken similar measures.

Despite the extreme temperatures, DNSU said those schools continued to disregard the health and safety of their students. DNSU has warned those schools that if any adverse health issues arose due to the heat, they would be held solely accountable. The union asserted that it was their responsibility to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.

DNSU has, therefore, reiterated its appeal to those schools to extend summer vacations until the severe humidity subsided, adding that the health and well-being of students cannot be compromised.

Further, DNSU cautioned that if the concerned authorities failed to consider the extreme weather conditions and prioritize students’ health, they would be held responsible. DNSU affirmed to take all necessary actions to protect the well-being of students.

It also urged the students and parents to report to the office of DNSU if any student gets adverse health issues due to heat wave. One could contact DNSU secretary education at 9863455830.
