Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) and Nagaland Indigenous Peoples Forum (NIPF) have appealed to the law enforcing agencies and administration to strictly follow all the protocols and norms while issuing the Inner Line Permit (ILP).
The two bodies also appealed to the public and village councils for stringent compliance while making oneself as a guarantor or while issuing NOC to non-locals.
In a press release, NIPF president Dr. T. Lima Jamir and general secretary Kikheto Sumi said the two organisations discussed current issues prevailing in the State especially in Dimapur, Chumukedima and Niuland at a constructive interaction held in DNSU office on June 27, 2025. The forum affirmed support to DNSU for taking up the very sensitive and important issues for the betterment and preservation for the young generations.
NIPF also encouraged DNSU to stand firm while standing for the truth and not to fall prey to any “inducing circumstances.”
The forum maintained that non-indigenous people have already exploited the Nagas and were now exploiting Naga people’s natural resources and land through fictitious benami land transaction.
NIPF said the two bodies decided to appeal to all the CSOs, NGOs, churches, leaders, politicians, bureaucrats, National workers and citizens to support the DNSU in its cause, which was for Nagas’ future survival
Strongly condemning the assault incident at Murgipati on one indigenous person by non-locals, the NIPF said strong action should be taken against the accused by the agencies so such incidents did not happen again.
