DNSU to hold 3rd B&K Memorial award

Diphupar Naga Students Union (DNSU) Bendangnungsang Longkumer and Khriesavizo Metha (B&K) Memorial award will be held on January 31, at Diphupar village gate. 

This was informed by newly elected president, Mhasizolie Angami at a press conference held at the union’s office, here in Dimapur. 

Briefing the media person, Angami informed that the third edition of B&K memorial award would be held virtually, whereby unlike other editions, awards to awardees would be presented virtually.  The president informed that this was initiated following the SOPs laid down by the state government. 

Tribunal general DNSU, Pitovi Achumi who is also the former president of DNSU while highlighting the upcoming event announced that the award function would be held to honour the two martyrs, late Bendangnunsang Longkumer and late Er. Khriesavizo Metha who laid down their lives for the cause of Nagas on January 31, 2017 during the Urban Local Bodies (ULB) election imbroglio.  

He further clarified that the award was not to be conceived or not to be reflected as an award for the best performance in a specific field.

He also stated that a jury had been selected, whereby individuals were selected to be awarded for the contribution towards the society in various fields. 

Some of the artistes who would be performing at the memorial award are Senüto Tetseo, Tutu Terhüja, Mono Shiu etc. 

The categories of awards for the third edition of B&K memorial awards have been selected as; special mention, music, literature, humanitarian, entrepreneur, promoter, sports, young achiever, art, and green award.
