DIMAPUR, MAY 15 (NPN): Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has expressed serious concern over the recent developments and allegations relating to irregularities in the conduct of the NEET-UG examination.
In a press release, DNSU president Hinoto P. Aomi and general secretary Michael Kath stated that NEET was one of the most crucial examinations in the country, serving as a gateway for thousands of aspiring medical students.
The union said that for many students from Nagaland and other underrepresented regions, the examination represented years of perseverance, sacrifice and hope for a better future, adding that any doubt cast upon its fairness not only affected individual aspirations but also shook the confidence of the student community at large.
DNSU stated that exams of such national importance must be conducted with absolute transparency, accountability and integrity. It said reports suggesting lapses or misconduct were deeply troubling and raised serious questions about the credibility of the system entrusted with shaping young futures.
In light of the concerns, DNSU urged the National Testing Agency (NTA) and investigative agencies to undertake a thorough and impartial inquiry into the matter. The union further stated that any individual or group found responsible must be held accountable in accordance with the law.
It also called upon the authorities to take immediate corrective measures to restore trust and ensure that such incidents were not repeated in the future. The union maintained that the rights and interests of genuine and hardworking students must be protected at all costs, especially at a time when students were already facing immense academic pressure and uncertainty.
DNSU further stated that institutions entrusted with students’ future must uphold the highest standards of fairness and responsibility, while reaffirming its commitment towards safeguarding student welfare and justice.
