Diphupar Naga Youth Organization (DNYO) has asked that the Nagaland Legislative Assembly be dissolved and President’s Rule imposed if the infighting between the legislators was not resolved at the earliest.
A press note by DNYO president, Vekre Puro and general secretary, Wati Imsong, reminded that due to present legislators turning “deaf ears” to the voice of the Nagas that two precious lives were lost on January 31, 2017. It reminded that so far the demands of the people were not yet fulfilled.
Diphupar Naga Youth Organization also stated that due to negligence of the government four more precious lives were lost due to collapse of bridge at 4th mile on July 11 affecting the lifeline of more than hundred villages.
While Nagas as a whole were presently suffering and crying for immediate help for uncountable reasons such as the road condition, land side, flood problems all over Nagaland, Diphupar Naga Youth Organization said instead of trying to solve and alleviating the suffering of the people, “the power and money hungry leaders fighting among themselves for positions of power for the few months that is left of their tenure has become unbearable and we cannot continue to remain as mute spectators”.
In this regard, Diphupar Naga Youth Organization said the if the infighting was not resolved at the earliest and the legislators can carry out their responsibilities the assembly should be dissolved and President’s Rule imposed at the earliest so that leaders who know their responsibilities could be elected.
