Doctor’s rape, murder: NIDA to wear black badges

In protest against the incident of rape and murder of a lady doctor in Kolkata, the Nagaland In-Service Doctor’s Association (NIDA) has requested all the members of NIDA to wear black bands/badges on August 16, 2024.


In a press release, NIDA president Dr. Bernard Amer and general secretary Dr. Nitovi Shikhu said that the protest was being organised in support of the All India Federation of Government Doctor’s Association (AIFGDA) and to show solidarity to the bereaved family.


District NIDA units have also been requested to voluntarily arrange the black bands/badges with the initiative of district unit representatives. The units have also been requested to send pictures/photos to the NIDA Whatsapp Group so it could be forwarded to the Central Executive Council of AIFGDA.
