Celebrating the 50th glorious year, Don Bosco High School Lakhuti (DBHSL) achieving a milestone where thousands of alumnus came to witness the grand occasion.
Gracing on the occasion, Mhathung Yanthan advisor Horticulture as the special guest unveiled the monolith stone with a dedication prayer pronounced by Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, bishop of Kohima.
Speaking on the occasion, Mhathung Yanthan congratulated the school for attaining a milestone, saying that essence of celebrating jubilee was to reminisce the past glory by retrospection over the last 50 years, marked with untold hardships taken up and faced by the pioneers of the school.
Over the gradual changes on the outlook and functioning of the school, he questioned upon the people to ponder as to how as individuals they have changed. In this regard, he invited the community to make a difference by accepting positive impact upon the people through the celebration of the 50th anniversary.
He also informed the students’ community to dedicate their works of learning as a student’s duty was to learn and continue to carry the flame of DBHSL and bring laurel to the school.
Meanwhile he encouraged the parents and teachers to guide their children in all-round activities, further he congratulated the alumnus from the school who has brought fame to the school and wished them to continue in contributing to the society and the school.
Bishop of Kohima delivered a message of change through will power and determination where he spoke on the theme “Honouring the past, celebrating the present and creating new future”.
Change of mind set and change of priority will only help to create new future, he added, stating that mind was to none if we strived to make it happen and one wish to see change.
The programme was entertained with cultural dances and songs from choirs of the DBHSL students.
While in the second session of alumni night, Elias T Lotha Transport commissioner, Nagaland graced as the chief confrere.
