Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, celebrated Fresher’s Day on May 23 in the presence of distinguished guests, including Miss Imjungwatila Longkumer, Miss Dimapur 2023 (RU), Grand Miss Teen Northeast 2023, and Miss ANCSU 2023 (RU), who attended as the special guest.
Addressing the students, Miss Longkumer encouraged them by saying that “every student has worth, purpose, and potential.” She further emphasized that true leadership goes beyond personal success and should be dedicated to service “for our own people, for our own state, and for our world.”
The programme was also graced by the presence of Miss Irene Sungbeni, self-taught entrepreneur and co-founder of Humtsoe Crafts; Fr. Hriiyio Michael, HOD of Philosophy and Librarian at Salesian College; and Mam Clare, resource person and animator of DBIDL Dimapur Province.
As part of the Don Bosco tradition of combining education with entertainment, students showcased their talents through a variety of stage performances during the celebration. Following several rounds of competition, Mr. Liwa Jamir and Miss Eleena Rohlupuii Hmar were crowned Mr. & Miss Fresher 2026.
