DoSE issues notification for RIMC entrance exam

Directorate of School Education (DoSE) has notified that the entrance examination for admission to Class VIII at Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, for the July 2026 term will be held on December 7, 2025 (Sunday). According to DIPR report, doth boys and girls are eligible to apply. Candidates must be between 11½ and 13 years of age as on July 1, 2026—i.e., born not earlier than July 2, 2013 and not later than January 1, 2015. Applicants should be studying in Class VII or must have passed Class VII from a recognised school by the time of admission.
The written examination will comprise three papers: Mathematics (9:30–11:00 a.m.), General Knowledge (12:00–1:00 p.m.), and English (2:30–4:30 p.m.). Candidates who qualify in the written test will be called for an interview, the date of which will be announced later. Prospectus-cum-application forms and a booklet of previous question papers may be obtained by making an online payment at https://admission.schoolmitra.com or by sending a self-addressed slip along with a demand draft of Rs. 600 (General) or Rs. 555 (SC/ST) in favour of “THE COMMANDANT, RIMC FUND”, payable at HDFC Bank, Ballupur Chowk, Dehradun (Bank Code: 1399), Uttarakhand.
Completed applications must include two passport-size photographs, domicile certificate, photocopy of Aadhaar card (both sides), birth certificate issued by the municipal authority, ST/SC certificate (if applicable), and an original certificate from the school principal with attested photograph, stating the candidate’s date of birth and current class. All documents should reach the Directorate of School Education by October 15, 2025.
