DoSE orders closure of illegal private schools

Department of School Education (DoSE) has noted that a few individuals/societies/organizations were still running private schools including pre-primary schools without obtaining permission from the department despite directive issued vide notification dated March 17, 2020 to immediately close down such schools.

The department stated that a onetime opportunity has been given to all individuals, societies and organizations running such school to apply for permission in the prescribed format made available at https://education.nagaland.gov.in within 15 days from the date of issue of the notification. The department said that no application would be accepted for granting of ex post facto permission to pre-primary schools after the expiry of the grace period.

The department stated that the onetime measure was applicable only to pre-primary schools. It warned that stringent punitive measures would be initiated against those running other levels of schools without prior permission.
