DoSE reminds on school bag weight, prescribed textbooks

DIMAPUR, FEB 27 (NPN):

Following directives from the National Human Rights Commission, the Department of School Education (DoSE) has reiterated that all government and private schools strictly comply with guidelines issued by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) on July 19, 2021, regulating students’ school bag weight.
DoSE clarified that wherever textbooks are prescribed by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) or NBSE, only those books must be used. Non-compliance may be reported to SDEOs, senior SDEOs or DEOs, and escalated to the principal director, school education, if unaddressed.
